Day 2 brought an early rain shower that dampened everyone's mood.
However the rain moved on and the racing began in earnest.
Papadakis with crew chief Greg Nakano burn out
and get ready for the record pass.

Again the problems arose. But this time the crew had an idea of what
was causing the problem and more importantly how to cure this issue.
The Houston Raceway track had great traction all weekend and
somehow the tranny was kicking out of gear at somewhere near the
halfway mark on just about every run.
How to solve this, Steph and Greg decided to change out the
tranny for their back-up that had a different gear ratio.

The special tranny comes off a Baja racer and is bullet proof.
However with any new ground breaking design you run into problems.
We understand there are other cars being built
using this "special' transmission. While Steph , Greg , and Kurt
lend a hand to change out the tranny the crowds were hovering about.
This is what makes Steph so popular, he always has time for his fans
even in time of troubles. Other racers were coming by borrowing tools
and this never phased the man Steph. Even with all these problems
Steph and crew were able to turn an 8.341 run at 168.16mph.
