Ricky Rilveria's Del Sol

One look at the huge Turbo Peeping out from under the hood of this Kool Blue Del Sol tells that this not just
an ordinary show car .
For daily driving a
Garrett T3 - T4 turbo
is called into action .
For the track Ricky can slap the Turbonetics T70 on the Del Sol .
With all this boost on tap a built engine is a must !
Starting with J E Pistons with a 8.5 : 1 compression ratio
brings the pressures down to reliable levels .
Connecting the pistons are Titanium Rods with a Titanium Crank Shaft .
Total seal rings keep the pistons seated properly .
Zex camshafts with Crower Valve Springs and Retainers
have been added to head and a Copper head gasket seals the engine tight .

A NOS wet system with twin bottles gets the turbos spinning at low revs.
Helping to keep the revs up is a lightened 7 lb . flywheel .
Clamping down on all this power is a RPS Stage 6 / 3 puck clutch .
A Greddy air INX intake keeps the turbo primed for air ,
and a huge front mount Spearco Intercooler cools the charge air .
A Greddy type S blow-off valve helps to prevent compressor surge .
RevHard was choose to supply the turbo manifold and the
exhaust gases flow thru a full Cat - Back Greddy Power Extreme Exhaust .
To keep the water temps in - check a Flex - A - Lite fan
is used to cool the radiator down .

The engine electronics had to be upgraded and
MSD Blaster SS coil
MSD external distributor cap
MSD 6BTM ( boost timing management )
MSD Spark plug wires
add the spark to Denso Iridium plugs .

As for Engine management , Haltech Racing
was choose for it fine tuning abilities .
Also a Greddy Profec B boost controller with fuzzy logic
and a Apex'i V - AFC air / fuel controller
keep the boost and fuel mixture in - tune .
A Greddy turbo timer cools down the turbo and the
engine after the race is over .
