Josh Mason's 99 Civic Hatch

Josh Mason's 99 Civic Hatch took all of 7 months
from start to what you see here . Working at Target as a warehouse worker
Josh is dedicating this
silver and blue creation to his best friend Andy Thompson that is no longer
with us .
Josh started his mods shaving his door handles and recessing the License
plate.
While riding around with a black car for a while with primer , Josh and
his fellow club member " JP " took their influences from the
Jun Civics seen in a Super Street article . Deciding on a color scheme
of this silver and blue to accentuate the Tsunami front fascia and the
VIS side and rear bumper , as well as the upper
hatch mounted wing .
All the Body work as well as the paint were laid down by
" JP aka : John Prater " .
JP owns his own shop DI Customs 256-233-1567 or 256-658-2169 .
The Street Tuners crew can attest that
JP knows his stuff .
The Silver/Blue hatch rides low
with the help of APC coilovers and rolls
on Quantum Tek's S-05's / 18"'s with
Yokohama Paradas .
Future plans are for air cylinders hopefully
by Nopi Nats in September .
Under the hood you will find an APC intake , Reactive strut bar , NGK
plug wires , blue valve cover . There are plans for a motor swap , but
for time being a billet dress - up kit and braided hoses are on the way
.
Josh has big plans for his hatch
and by the looks of things he has a great start . Many new mods are in
- progress
for the upcoming Nopi Nats event .
The interior has been given the blue paint scheme
as the outside APC indiglo gauges
and and a in -dash mounted Autometer Tach as well as autometer door
pillar mounted gauges .
Rounding out the interior mods are a
Toucan short shifter.
Where this hatch shines is the
kickin sound system .
Starting with the Pro Clarion 715 cd player.
Taking the signal and turning up the watts are a pair of Planet audio
amps,
a 2 channel and another 4 channel laid down some 1200 watts of sound.
The speakers of choice are also Planet Audio's 6.5 front components and
a pair of 6x9's for the rear. The subs are a pair of 12" Planet Audio's
.
This set -up is enclosed in a custom fiberglass enclosure provided by
Chris Donahue at the Sound Depot in Madison Al .
As the plate says "NEVRDUN" Josh has 2 video screens scheduled
to be installed . A 5.5 " screen for the steering wheel and a 7"
unit for the dash .
Big plans are in the works for the interior. Changing
the carpet and adding a pair of
Aerospeed racing seats as well as removing the rear seat to make room
for the
Sony PlayStation 2 and the Air tanks for his air suspension .
Josh has gotten off to a great start with this nice silver and blue hatch.
The Street Tuners crew looks forward to seeing Josh and his hatch at the
Nopi Nats in September. By then most of these new mods will be completed
and we can get some more pics of this clean hatch .
Josh sends a special thanks to his wife Amanda, and
promises to make her 00 Cavalier Z-24
as sweet as his Hatch.
More props go out to :
"JP" of DI Customs
Jimmy Calloway of Xtreme Graphix in Hazelgreen Al.
Dave , Eric , Chris of Sound Depot
Also Josh thanks his family and friends
and the whole
Desired Images Car Club .
Always in Remembrance of
Andy Thompson
