Greg Carter's
99 Civic Dx

Greg Carter Bought this Dx for his second
project on New Years eve 1999 .
Since then Greg's Civic Dx
has gone thru some
major changes .
Greg has entered 14 shows
and come back with
12 - 1st. Place trophies and 1 - 2nd .
That's quite a feat for a student / part time Installer at
" Pelham Performance Tire"
in Montgomery Al. ( 334-284-6443
)

We here at Street Tuners like the clean look
and this is one great example of
having a game plan from the
beginning and sticking to it.

Greg's long list of modifications start with
the Exterior Body lines.
Starting with the Xenon front and rear fascias
Greg choose to keep the
factory side skirts to keep the lines clean and simple.
A Tsunami wrap-around rear wing adds
the styling to rear deck lid . Of course to bring
out flow from the styling Greg choose to have
the side skirts as well as the
door rub rail painted white to match the body color. However Greg wanted to keep the door handles black to give a little contrast and also they will fit his future plans for his next round of exterior mods .
A pair of Z 3 fenders add a little to the
simplicity without over doing it .
As well the M3 mirrors do the same adding style without glaring overstatements . Greg had a Mugen front grill but decided it just wasn't fitting in right with his scheme so he choose to fabricate his own
custom upper and lower grill for the front fascia .
Denzi projectors keep the darkness at bay and a pair of fiberglass eyelids smooth out the transition form the bumper to the hood .

Red is the theme for the engine bay as well as polished and chromed out parts .
Greg polished the fuel rail as well as the valve cover himself . An assortment of
APC engine dress-up parts make this
engine compartment special .
To get the DX up and running the 1.5 liter needs some more breathing capacity
and Greg choose an AEM cold air intake
that has been treated to a full chrome plating .
Add the AEM by - pass valve gives a little bit of added security when the rains come .|
A reactive 4 into 1 racing ceramic racing header
expels the spent exhaust gases to a
Magna Flow high flow catalytic converter .
Which in turn flows to the custom exhaust with a
Ractive twin loop muffler .

Type R front / rear / lower tie - Bars keep the suspension firmly planted in the corners. And for added stopping power a set of Power Stop - Pro Stop
cross drilled and slotted rotors with
axis metal master pads bring the
Dx to a halt on command .
Greg Choose Axis Touring cup 18" rims with Toyo Proxies to keep the Civic
firmly planted to the road surface .

The interior cabin is where this Civic has received much attention .
APC Indiglo gauge cluster with wrap around mounts keep the drivers eyes in tune with the
vital stats of the current engine and driving conditions .
A compliment of Ractive interior mods such as
Shifter / E-brake handle and Pedals and
a custom made billet shifter plate
begin to make a statement that this Civic is for real .
Next on the long list are a pair of Konig Rush Z - Racing Seats with Simpson racing harnesses .
Type R floor mats round out the
front driver compartment goodies .

One to seek the
" Total Package "
Greg set his sights on the
sound system .
After having his head unit stolen
Greg re-located it to the bottom of the
console for added security .
This time Greg Choose a Clarion head unit
with a cd changer , an ADS T640
Amp provides the power.
Polk Audio front component speakers were choose for the
front with re-located tweeters .
A JL Audio 8.1 / 8WU0 Micro Sub
provides the the low frequencies for the sounds.
Greg tastes in Music lean toward clear sounding systems rather than just thumping bass and we have to agree that the 8" sub sounded ultra clean and hit pretty hard .

Greg has created a very nice Civic Dx ,
clean lines and a complete package .
Greg is into installs in a big way when
his school work allows , and it shows
for Greg did all the work except the paint on his white Civic .

Not content as most Tuners are with their creations
Greg has even bigger plans for his DX .
There is talk of Jackson Racing Supercharger
or a Motor Swap.
As for the exterior Greg has some interesting ideas that start with a Carbon Fiber hood and rear wing
and a black painted roof line .
Very interesting and the Street Tuners crew looks forward to seeing what's next for the
White Civic Dx !
