Cathy Paulk's 98 Civic Ex

The Street Tuners Crew first
saw this super clean
Civic Ex at the
Nopi show in
Pidgeon Forge Tenn .
We finally caught up with Cathy at the Nopi Nats in Atlanta .
The S.T. Crew had desperately wanted
to feature Cathy and her awesome 98 Civic Ex .
Together Cathy and her husband Michael have created a trophy winner .
Morphing a daily driver into this creation is quite a feat .
Plans for the future are to turn this show pleaser into a true racer .
However many performance upgrades
are already evident .

Check out the swapped B18C1
with the Jackson Racing upgraded Supercharger .
Add to the mix a
Nitrous Express 35 shot makes this show winner a contender in 1320 !
Concentrating on the outdside of the engine this season Cathy has added
a lightened stock flywheel and a Clutch Masters stage 3.5 clutch assembly while performing the motor swap .
While maintaining both the air-conditioning
and the power steering ,
Cathy and Michael turned their attention to upgrading the Jackson Racing Super charger with a 8 lb pulley as well as adding Jackson Racing
in-tank fuel pump , and water injection unit .
An AEM cold air intake with a by-pass valve feeds the supercharger with the air needed to make the power .
A Kamikaze header and a Thermal
stainless steel cat - back exhaust expels the spent gases.
Crane was called on to supply the spark in the form of a Crane HI-6S Ignition and a Crane PS-91 external coil . Vitek 8mm purple plug wires for show
and Crane 11mm wires for the 1320 feed the
Zex spark plugs .
Numerous STR polished engine dress-up items to numerous to mention
finish out the engine compartment .

       

The exterior is where this Ex gets noticed in a big way .
The subtle Colorshifting paint by Flex Products has many different hues without being overly garish .
Shaving the door handles , side moldings , rear emblems smooth out the
lines and add to the shifting paint scheme .
Wings West Avenger front bumper , rear bumper and side skirts add to the wings West Commando style rear Wing .
Replacing the 98 rear tails with 99 red / white units together with APC Clear headlights and PIAA Fog Lights bring the night time at bay.
